In order to show spiritual solidarity and support of those who are sick as a result of Covid-19, as well as their families and keyworkers, the Archbishop of Southwark, John Wilson, will celebrate a national live-streamed Mass in St George’s Cathedral this evening (Thursday 2nd July 2020) at 7pm.
A spokesperson for the diocese said: “As a Catholic community we are now greatly looking forward to the gentle and safe re-opening of our physical churches from 4th July 2020. However, this online service takes place as part of a series of weekly Masses that have been celebrated by senior Catholic Clergy throughout England and Wales during the pandemic. We warmly invite everyone to join us this Thursday evening in order to pray for individuals and families affected by the coronavirus, as well as those in health and social care that are working to overcome it.”
