Catholic footballer James McClean has provided homeless people with meals and shelter.
The Republic of Ireland international, together with his wife Erin, has paid for six people to stay in a hotel in his home city of Derry, with all of their meals provided.
McClean’s latest charitable act was revealed by his sister, Mary-Jane McClean, when she shared the news via social media.
‘My brother has huge heart. Him and Erin just paid for six homeless people to stay in the Maldron Hotel for a few nights with food,’ she wrote on Facebook. ‘We’re just away collecting them now and taking them to the hotel. Already left a wee man to the hotel who lays at Foyleside (shopping centre), the critter is buzzing going to collect more now. You are a credit James McClean and Erin McClean.’
McClean has donated money to various causes in the past, including the homeless, those with alcohol problems and children in need of medical care.
