The Duckett Library at St John’s Cathedral, Norwich is re-opening after the 10am Mass on Tuesday 13th April and is looking for new volunteers.
The library’s stock covers a wide range of religious and theological subjects. It was blessed by Bishop Michael Evans in 2010 and was opened on Ash Wednesday 2012 by Fr James Walsh, then Dean of the Cathedral.
Normal opening times will apply from 13th April onwards: Tuesday and Thursday mornings after the 10am Mass until 12.30pm, and
Sunday mornings after the 9am Mass until 10.40am. This is in line with current Government guidelines for public libraries.
Face masks and hand gel will still be necessary for the time being.
All books currently out on loan are due back during the week beginning Sunday 18th April so the library would be very grateful if you could search for any you have and return them.
If you are unable to come into the library during opening times, there is a returns box just outside the library door in St Joseph’s chapel. The cathedral is open all day, every day.
The library is currently very short of volunteers. If you might be interested in working as a volunteer, please email [email protected], give your availability and the library will provide further details.
No library experience is needed as full training will be given.
