Stalwart of St Edward’s marks his centenary birthday with special Mass at parish church.
Heartfelt congratulations to Deacon Edwin Murphy of St Edward’s parish, Clifford after he celebrated his 100th birthday on Monday, 21st December.
Ordained in 1993, Edwin is now the longest-serving permanent deacon in the diocese – and undoubtedly the oldest, too! To mark the occasion a special morning Mass was celebrated for Deacon Edwin at St Edward’s.
The Bishop of Leeds, Marcus Stock, sent his best wishes to Deacon Edwin on behalf of the clergy and lay faithful of the diocese. Many Happy Returns of the day from one and all!
