Kanye West has announced he is collaborating with Dr Dre as part of a sequel to his recently released Christian hip-hop album, Jesus Is King.
The US rapper, who earlier this year proclaimed he is a born-again Christian, took to Twitter this week to make the announcement.
‘Ye and Dre Jesus is King Part II coming soon,’ West tweeted, while sharing a photo of the musical duo in the studio.
Rapper and record producer Dr Dre also posted the image along with the same caption on his Instagram page.
The announcement came just over three weeks after the release of Jesus Is King, which gave West his ninth consecutive album to debut atop the Billboard 200 chart, tying him with a record held by fellow rapper Eminem.
The album also resulted in West’s first appearance on Billboard’s religious charts, as it simultaneously entered atop the US Top Christian Albums and Top Gospel Albums charts.
The announcement of the Jesus Is King sequel also comes after West’s revelation that he plans to release a Christmas album.
During a recent interview with Beats 1 Radio’s Zane Lowe, the rapper announced he is working on a gospel album titled Jesus Is Born, which he plans to release on Christmas Day.
