Susan Boyle, Lionel Richie and Bonnie Tyler will sing for Pope Francis at this year’s Vatican Christmas concert.
The three stars will headline the concert, organised by the Congregation for Catholic Education, which will be held on Saturday 14th December in the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall.
Boyle, a devout Catholic who has previously performed for Pope Benedict XVI in Glasgow, said she is “truly blessed” to be part of the line-up for the Vatican concert.
“It’s hard to describe what this means to me,” the Britain’s Got Talent star told The Scottish Sun. “Singing for Pope Francis at the Vatican is beyond my wildest dreams.”
The 58-year-old singer, known as SuBo also pointed out that it is “a very worthwhile cause”, as proceeds from the concert will go towards helping the Amazon rainforest and supporting the indigenous communities who live there.
As well as Boyle, Richie and Tyler, the concert will feature a number of Italian musicians, including the Gendarmerie Corps of Vatican City State – the Vatican’s police band.
