Christians cannot choose to ignore the scandal of homelessness on our doorsteps, the Bishop of Salford has warned.
In a forthcoming Catholic Universe campaign on homelessness, Bishop John Arnold shares his thoughts on the crisis in Manchester, including his first-hand account of the many people he sees sleeping rough in the city’s streets. ‘It is clearly getting worse,’ he writes.
‘This is a scandal on our doorsteps that we as Christians cannot choose to ignore. We all have a responsibility to take action to challenge the injustice we see on our streets.’
The Catholic Universe’s campaign on homelessness begins next week.
The four-week campaign will also include articles from the Bishop of Middlesbrough, Terence Drainey, and those who have first-hand experience of providing support to some of society’s most vulnerable people.
Don’t miss the launch of this campaign in The Catholic Universe, available on Friday, 26th April.
