The Archbishop of Tuam has asked young men to use any spare time created by the Covid-19 pandemic to reflect on whether God is calling them to the priesthood.
Archbishop Michael Neary said that priesthood is a demanding but very fulfilling life, though “like any vocation it has its ups and downs, joys and sorrows. But with so many situations clamouring for our time and attention it is understandable that God’s call could go unheard,” the archbishop said in his pastoral letter marking Vocations Sunday, 3rd May.
“I extend an invitation to young men to reflect, during this time when perhaps the clamour of life has died down a little, as to whether God may be calling them to follow him as a priest,” he added.
